Shareholders of AUL and Continental Airlines Approve Merging

Shareholders of united airlines parent UAL and Continental Airlines approved the merger of two companies to become the world’s largest air carrier. More than ninty eight percent of votes cast Continental’s shareholders approved UAL’s $ 3.17 billion all-stock purchase at a meeting in Houston. UAl investors also approved by ninty six percent votes at Chicago suburb. This carrier main objective is to complete the combination of their operation within the next 18 months.

UAL and continental airlines have decided to announce their combined schedule in the month of May only. The main objective of this combination is to provide better services to the employees and on the other hand to increase and maintain their economic condition in the current market.

The merger has got the confidence from the US government in the month of august and clearance from the European commission in July. The name of the new merger airlines is given by United Airlines and will be based in Chicago.
